MICHELLE ANDERST ARTIST BIO

Michelle's detailed oil paintings are inspired by insects, fungi, herbalism and the

intricate workings of ecosystems. These elements are interwoven with geometry

and ancient esoteric systems to create imagery that is rich in both symbolism and

beauty.

Anderst studied classical painting in her childhood home of Southern Oregon and

was trained in Scientific Illustration at University of Washington. She currently

works out of her Bozeman art studio and derives much of her inspiration from

backpacking in deep wilderness.
